The Republic of ZEFTA

((According to the Time Machine :) )

I wish to go back to 1919 during the revolution in Egypt, when Saad Zaghlol and his colleagues have collected petitions from Egyptians to talk  instead of them with the British occupation. They were asking for their country's independence. At that time and after Saad Zaghlol had arrested, demonstrations started all over the country.
At my small town (Zefta),

which is located on the west bank of Domyate branch of River Nile, there was a young lawyer called Yossef El-Gendy. He belonged to a big, rich and famous family. He thought with his friends to make different and huge thing to stand up with Saad Zaghlol and his demands for Egypt.

They decided to declare the ( Republic of Zefta ) on 16 March 1919.

Then they created the Municipal Council ruling which Yossef El-Gendy became the president of it. But the British authorities sent an Australian solders to control this rebellious town. At that time Australia was, also, under the control of the British Empire. So, El-Gendy and the rest of the municipal council ruling send them a letter, calling them as brothers who also suffer from the British occupation, and they have told them that they are fighting for their freedom as you wish to have to your country which meant that they shouldn't destroy their dreams.

Then the Australian solders didn't attack the town.

But the British authority didn't give up. It tried to send other forces to the town by train, so the revolutionaries cut the train's road to avoid this attack.the sprite of Zefta revolution spreed all over the country, so many different towns start declaring their Independence. Which made the British occupation tried to negotiated with the revolutionaries in Zefta. the authority asked for (Yossef El-Gendy) and 20 one of the revolutionaries.

People refused to deliver anyone.

But after the British forces attack the town from the river Nile, they changed their mind. So they helped Yossef El-Gendy to escape from the town, then they deliver 20 of the occupation's agents at the town.

If I have the chance to travel through the "time", I wish to go to that time. While leaders were more ambitious, encourage and creative than today's leaders. I wish to be at the Egyptian women's demonstrations at that time. I also wish to be with the revolutionaries at Zefta town.To see how things were going.
I want to be at the streets when they were cutting trains road.
To attend a declaration of a "Republic" a new democratic and different point in our history which I think it will not be repeated again.
